This Week’s Special: St Patrick’s Day!
Tomorrow is March 17th, i.e. St Patrick’s Day, the Irish National Day, which is widely celebrated in other English-speaking countries, from the UK to the USA via Australia, Canada and New Zealand. It’s time to dress in green, drink Guinness and look out for the Leprechaun…
Paddy’s Day reminds me of the wonderful time I’ve spent in Ireland a few years ago. This was probably the most intense 10 months I’ve ever experienced in my whole young life. I met terrific friends, I drank a lot of beer and I fell in love with the country. I just can’t wait to go back there! That’s why I’m so enthusiastic about Paddy’s Day every year.
This week, instead of making recipes with a particular fruit or veg, I’m going to try some Irish recipes and blog about Irish natural wonders, traditions, fairies…
All I can tell about the recipes is that we’re gonna have soup, stew, beef, pork, potatoes, Guinness for main courses, and trifle, cupcakes, Whiskey for desert… As always, any comments or suggestions are welcome.
If you’d like to share your special Irish recipes, register on www.serialcooking.com and create your recipes. It’s easy and I’d love to hear about your menus for Paddy’s Day!
Have a nice and tasty week!
