Restaurant Review: Les Fondus de la Raclette, Paris
We are just back from a quick trip of two days in Paris. We may be French but we don’t really know the capital city as we both lived in the south of France for several years. So, on our way back from Rouen in Normandy, where we met some friends over the week end, we visited Paris for the first time together.
On Monday night, we went to a restaurant called Aux Fondus de la Raclette because we miss good French cheese…
Given the location of our hotel, we went to the third restaurant of the chain, situated rue Parmentier, 75011. The restaurant is quite small and was not very busy - but it was on a Monday night so usually not the busiest night of the week.
We have been served very quickly and the waitresses were nice. Not a single issue with the service.
As we are really love raclette, we couldn’t resist the tempting Raclette Totale: 300g of cheese and meat, served with (unlimited) potatoes and sauces. It sounded great… but we’ve both been disappointed by the quality and quantity of the food.
- The cheese slices were so thin that they grilled too quickly and did not taste like good raclette cheese. It had almost no flavour.
- The meat was good but not exceptional.
Overall the quality/price ration was not so good and we found the price (17,50€ for the Raclette Totale) a bit exaggerated.
My advice: if you want to eat a good raclette in Paris, choose another restaurant!
