Recipe: Cauliflower & Broccoli Gratin - Recette: Gratin de Chou-Fleur & Broccoli

When white and green florets get together… Today the cauliflower has invited the broccoli to join in for a gratin. Yum!

Cauliflower & Broccoli Gratin

Serves 6 - Ready in 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cauliflower
  • 1 broccoli
  • 200g bacon, diced
  • 30cl single cream
  • 40g grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2tsp ground nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Separate and wash the florets of the broccoli and cauliflower.
  • Cook in salted boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes or until tender.
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C / gas 6.
  • Fry the diced bacon in the melted butter for a few minutes.
  • Butter an oven-proof dish.
  • Drain the cauliflower and broccoli. Put into the dish.
  • Add the bacon. Stir well.
  • Mix the cream with ground nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  • Add to the vegetables and stir well.
  • Top with grated cheese.
  • Bake for 10 minutes and put under a hot grill for 5 minutes to gratinate it.

Gratin de Chou-Fleur & Broccoli

Pour 6 personnes - Prêt en 30 minutes

Ingrédients

  • 1 chou-fleur
  • 1 broccoli
  • 200g lardons
  • 30cl crème liquide ou crème fraîche
  • 40g fromage râpé
  • 1 cs beurre fondu
  • 1/2 cc muscade
  • sel & poivre

Préparation

  • Coupez et lavez les fleurets de chou-fleur et broccoli.
  • Faites cuire à l’eau bouillante salée pendant 10 à 15 minutes jusqu’à ce qu’ils soient tendres.
  • Préchauffez le four à 200°C.
  • Faites revenir les lardons dans le beurre pendant quelques minutes.
  • Beurrez un plat à gratin.
  • Egouttez le chou-fleur et le broccoli. Versez dans le plat à gratin.
  • Ajoutez les lardons et mélangez.
  • Mélangez la muscade, le sel et le poivre dans la crème.
  • Versez dans le plat et mélangez délicatement.
  • Répartissez le fromage râpé.
  • Enfournez 10 minutes puis faites gratinez environ 5 minutes.
