Little Casserole Recipe - Recette de Petite Cocotte

Submitted by Nathalie on Tuesday, 20 January 2009One Comment

For Christmas, my mum offered us a set of two little casseroles together with a cookbook. They are lovely and you can bake whatever you want in it. I just love them!

The cookbook is called Petites Cocottes by José Maréchal.

I have tried them for the first time the weekend before last and I chose a recipe, which was in the book: Mini Gratin of Potato, Mushrooms and Spinach. Easy to cook and really tasty. It’s a shame the casseroles were so small…

Mini Gratin Potato, Mushroom and Spinach

Serves 2 - Ready in 50 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes
  • 2 mushrooms
  • 4 tbsp fresh spinach
  • 10cl crème fraîche
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 pinch of ground nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Peel the potatoes and garlic clove. Wash the potatoes, mushrooms and spinach.
  • Slice the mushrooms and potatoes.
  • Put a layer of potato in the casseroles, then a layer of mushroom.
  • In a bowl, mix the crème fraîche, crushed garlic, ground nutmeg and spinach. Season to taste.
  • Top the casseroles with this mixture.
  • Bake for 35 minutes.

Bon Appétit!
