Apple & Clementine Crumble - Crumble aux Pommes & Clémentines

Submitted by Nathalie on Friday, 16 January 20092 Comments

Today is Friday and to finish our “Apple-themed week”, I’ve just cooked an Apple & Clementine Crumble.

I had the idea this morning, while I was flicking through a cookbook called Crumbles & Cie by Héloïse Martel. I’ve modified the recipe a little and here is the result.

Apple & Clementine Crumble

Serves: 2 - Ready in 1h

Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 1 or 2 apples, depending on the size
  • 1 clementine
  • 2tsp honey

For the crumble:

  • 50g flour
  • 25g sugar
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 25g butter

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Butter the ramequins.
  • Peel and slice the apples and peel the clementines.
  • Place one layer of apple in each ramequin, then top with the clementine segments (the ramequins can be full, the fruits will reduce when cooking and you’ll then have room to put the crumble on top).
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Mix the flour, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Taking a few cubes of butter at a time rub into the flour mixture. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • When the fruits are baked, take them out of the oven and sprinkle with honey. Mix the fruits with a spoon.
  • Add the crumble on top and bake for 30 minutes.

I think the cinnamon works incredibly well with the apple and the clementine. I’ve just taken them out of the oven and they smell really good.

If you try this recipe, let me know if you’ve enjoyed it!

    Re Bijour !
Chouette maintenant c’est en français, je ne suis plus obligé de me contenter des images (fort appétissantes d’ailleurs). Merci pour le travail supplémentaire que cela te demande.

I always think that I’m not a fan of warm citrus fruits, but I so am.
    Great post.
